AllGuard
300,000+ five-star reviews
Outside all winter, a car faces snow, freeze–thaw, salt and moisture, and one grade answers all four.
As featured in
Winter works on a parked car four ways at once, and a cover only earns its place if it has an answer to each.

Snow melts on the cover by afternoon and refreezes overnight. The coated shell sheds meltwater instead of soaking it in.

Wet snow is heavy, and a loose cover sags and pools. Elastic front and rear hems draw it in, leaving less to pool.

Plow spray dries to a salt film on trim and glass. The coated shell runs hem to hem, so spray dries on it.

A cover that doesn't breathe holds damp against the paint. The breathable fabric lets it escape, and a fleece liner sits against the finish.
Walk the four attacks back and they converge on one requirement: water-resistant, breathable, backed by the AllGuard Protection Warranty.

Brush the loose snow off first, then cover. You don't want to trap a layer of snow and ice against the paint where it can melt, refreeze and abrade. On a clean, dry car, the next snowfall lands on the cover, not the paint.
That's the danger with a cheap non-breathing cover. On the AllGuard Platinum Shield, the breathable fabric lets damp escape instead of holding it against the finish, while the coated shell still sheds water off the top. Trapped moisture points to the wrong fabric, not to covering the car.
Size and hold-down decide it. A cover matched to your car, with its elastic front and rear hems pulled snug, leaves the wind little loose fabric to catch. In high wind, clip a Gust Strap to its lower edge and run its cords under the car.
Sweep snow off with a soft brush. For ice, let it release on its own or with a gentle push, and never scrape. The cover takes the contact instead of the clear coat, so a little snow load is exactly what it is there for.
It depends on your winter. A mild, occasional dusting may be fine for a lower grade. A full season of snow load, freeze–thaw and road salt is what the AllGuard Platinum Shield is for. Match the grade to your actual weather.
For the keeper, covering the car in November is a ceremony: the last good look before the cold, and the promise of the reveal in spring. For the daily driver, it’s a short routine worth doing in the right order. Either way, the order matters.
Cover a dirty car and you don’t protect the finish. You press the winter’s first layer of grit into it.
The one rule · Care, then cover
Winter grime under a cover is an abrasive. Start clean and bone-dry. Moisture is the one thing you never want sealed in.
If you wax, do it now, on clean paint, before the car goes under the cover for the season.
Front to back, then pull the elastic front and rear hems under the bumpers. In high wind, clip a Gust Strap to the cover’s lower edge and run its cords under the car.
One look after the first big snow confirms the cover stayed put. After that, winter takes care of itself.

Every cover is made for a year, make and model, so the finder is the fastest way to the right one.
